About

MY RANT…

The name of the game is ‘adaptation’. I see change. I see opportunity. I see consumers with more and more control of what they watch. It’s no longer about sending a message, but about having a conversation. It’s about honesty. It’s about companies knowing themselves and being true to that personality across all mediums. I see a blurring of entertainment and advertising. I love that the evolution of media is reinforcing my own evolution. To learn. To try new things. To experiment. After all, it is my profession to see and relate things in new and provocative ways. Sure, there is a new media frontier out there, but as technology warps, the need for good content only gets stronger. People are seeking out things they desire. It is my job to give them just that. No matter what the vehicle. This is going to be fun…

MY EXPERIENCE…

In my twenty odd years of writing, at shops including Leo Burnett, FCB, DDB, Y&R and presently McGarryBowen, I have enjoyed working with a variety of clients from the Fortune 500 to companies with only two employees.

MY SCHOOLING…

I graduated from the University of Missouri-Columbia Journalism School, The Portfolio Center in Atlanta and most recently completed the intensive Screenwriting University’s on-line course.

MY RECESS…

I play guitar. Study martial arts, on and off. Paint weird things. Jot down intriguing thoughts. Spend quality time pondering the fate of the universe with friends. Build things. Enjoy getting to know animals of all kinds. And surf, when I escape the strong grip of the Midwest.

MY DETOURS…

I was a carpenter in Alaska. I was a longshoreman in Seattle. I was in a rock band in Chicago. I brought an 1878 row-house mansion back from the dead. I taught surfing in Costa Rica. I was a dessert chef in Atlanta. I was a break dance teacher in Missouri (embarrassing but true). And there’s more.
